NORTH DAKOTA: An animal-loving 16-year-old died in a car accident Saturday after she swerved to avoid hitting a dog. Chelsey Lies was driving a pickup truck along a gravel road near her home when she swerved, entered a ditch and rolled over. She was ejected and died. Her brother, Cody, age 14, was also in the pickup but was not hurt. Neither were wearing their seatbelts.

LOUISIANA: Two teens were killed in Baton Rouge Sunday. Shay Michale Bush, 17, and Kenneth Williams, 16, were killed when the vehicle they were in slammed into a tree, police said. The vehicle they were driving had been reported stolen earlier in the day, although police do not know if the boys were involved in the robbery. They both died at the scene.

FLORIDA: The Orlando Sentinel reports that 19-year-old Neatro Warens died a full 17 months after a car accident that left  him brain dead. The baseball star was on his way home from a game on March 14, 2008, when his car rolled and crashed into a tree. His family, and girlfriend, have been by his side ever since. His MySpace page was created after the accident.
